Listen to a cool song

You can upload MP3 files and play them on a wiki page.

First, go to your Files page and upload the MP3 file.

Find it in the list of files and right click to copy it's URL (shortcut or address).

Use this Google Gadget to create the player code. Use your previously copied URL to tell the plugin to use your MP3 file in the player. Finally copy the player code into the HTML plugin while you are editing a wiki page.

Here's another free player for the MP3s you have uploaded to your wiki. The website displays a wizard to walk you through creating the code for this player.

Laughing Sam's Drone by Jimi Pocius

Here's another favorite of mine. Host your files at Box.net.

Any files you want, up to 1GB of free file hosting.

How about some psychedelic rock from my friend Jimi Pocius?

Get your own Box.net widget and share anywhere!

Creating PODcasts

See this page for help creating an online podcast.

(GCast is good)

Once you have a podcast, you can usually display a podcast player in your wiki.

(Odeo is good for that if GCast doesn't have an embedded player)

Other streaming audio webhosts:

I found at least two sites that let you upload mp3 files and also provide a nice little plugins you can put on your site to stream it out. Here is an NCR broadcast about PBwiki frm Odeo.com and the other one is some heavy metal music from Goear.com. Once again, all you have to do is insert the code into your wiki page with the HTML plugin.

Some web services let you embed a player in your web pages as well.

This one is from http://indiehitz.net
